Khare – Acclimatization and preparation for the ascent
Alchemy of Heights and the Ritual of Preparation for Ascent
Today we will pause our ascent to allow our body and spirit to adapt to the thin air and gather strength before the final push. But don’t think that this will be a day of boredom and idleness! Khare is not just a base camp, it is an alchemical laboratory where you can transform your fear into determination and doubt into confidence.
Under the guidance of an experienced climbing leader, you will master basic mountaineering techniques, learn to handle an ice axe and crampons as if they were an extension of your arms, and learn how to properly use the rope that will become your guide to the summit.
But this isn’t just a workout; it’s a ritual of preparation that will help you tune into the mountain and feel its power. You’ll meditate to calm your mind and open your heart to adventure, and practice yoga to strengthen your body and spirit.
By evening, when the sun disappears behind the horizon and the sky above Khare shines with thousands of stars, you will feel ready to climb. You will know that this is not just a hike, it is a journey to yourself, to your limits, to your dream. And you will be ready to overcome all difficulties to reach the top and see the world from a bird’s eye view.

Today we leave Khare and head to Mera High Camp, our last stop before the summit push. The trail, like a stone staircase to heaven, takes us through a boulder-strewn landscape where every stone is a witness to eternity.
We will pass through the Mera Peak Base Camp, where climbers from all over the world prepare for their ascent. Here you will feel the atmosphere of the upcoming feat, see tents fluttering in the wind like flags of victory, and hear stories about conquering peaks.
We then cross the Mera La Pass, which, like a bridge between worlds, connects the Khare Valley with the Mera High Camp. Here, at an altitude of 5,780 meters, the air is as thin as ether, and the landscape resembles the surface of the moon.
