Diving into the labyrinth of time and karma

Today we will go on a journey through the cultural space of Kathmandu. Here, every temple is a portal to the past, and every stupa is an accumulator of karmic energy. We will visit ancient temples and monasteries, where time has frozen like resin, and where you can hear the whispers of the gods.

In the shadow of Mera Peak and in the footsteps of ancient shepherds

Today is a day of climbing into the clouds, where the air becomes thinner and the world becomes clearer. We set off from Kote, following the Hinku Khola ridge, which, like a stone dragon, guards the valley from the winds. In the shadow of the mighty Mera Peak, we follow a trail that has been used for centuries by shepherds driving their flocks to high-altitude pastures.

In Gondischung, a summer settlement for herders, we will stop for lunch to sample local delicacies made from yak milk and herbs collected on the mountain slopes.

After lunch, we continue our journey past the 200-year-old Lungsumgba Gompa, where legends say monks hold the secrets to longevity and enlightenment. Here you can see the image of Mera Peak carved into the rock, which, like a portal, leads to the top of the mountain.

We will reach Dig Kharki, a viewpoint overlooking the Charpat Himal, a mountain range that protects the valley from the winds like a rock wall. Here we will be able to see the Hinku Nup and Shar glaciers.

We will then continue our journey to Khara, which is located at an altitude of 5,045 meters. The trail will be steep and rocky, but every step will bring us closer to our goal – Mera Peak Base Camp.

Khare – Acclimatization and preparation for the ascent

Alchemy of Heights and the Ritual of Preparation for Ascent

Today we will pause our ascent to allow our body and spirit to adapt to the thin air and gather strength before the final push. But don’t think that this will be a day of boredom and idleness! Khare is not just a base camp, it is an alchemical laboratory where you can transform your fear into determination and doubt into confidence.

Under the guidance of an experienced climbing leader, you will master basic mountaineering techniques, learn to handle an ice axe and crampons as if they were an extension of your arms, and learn how to properly use the rope that will become your guide to the summit.

But this isn’t just a workout; it’s a ritual of preparation that will help you tune into the mountain and feel its power. You’ll meditate to calm your mind and open your heart to adventure, and practice yoga to strengthen your body and spirit.

By evening, when the sun disappears behind the horizon and the sky above Khare shines with thousands of stars, you will feel ready to climb. You will know that this is not just a hike, it is a journey to yourself, to your limits, to your dream. And you will be ready to overcome all difficulties to reach the top and see the world from a bird’s eye view.

Trek from Khare to Mera High Camp

Ascent to the Palace of the Gods

Today we leave Khare and head to Mera High Camp, our last stop before the summit push. The trail, like a stone staircase to heaven, takes us through a boulder-strewn landscape where every stone is a witness to eternity.

We will pass through the Mera Peak Base Camp, where climbers from all over the world prepare for their ascent. Here you will feel the atmosphere of the upcoming feat, see tents fluttering in the wind like flags of victory, and hear stories about conquering peaks.

We then cross the Mera La Pass, which, like a bridge between worlds, connects the Khare Valley with the Mera High Camp. Here, at an altitude of 5,780 meters, the air is as thin as ether, and the landscape resembles the surface of the moon.

Our reward for our efforts will be a view that is beyond words. From Mera High Camp, we will be treated to a panorama of the Himalayas that will make our hearts skip a beat and make us forget all our worldly cares. We will see Everest, Makalu, Cho Oyu, Lhotse, Nuptse, Chamlang and Baruntse – eight-thousanders that sit like gods on their thrones.

Mera High Camp – Mera Peak – Khare

Ascent to the roof of the world and descent into the embrace of the earth

Today is the day you’ve been working towards all this time. The day you challenge the sky and conquer Mera Peak. Wake up at 2am, eat breakfast by the light of your headlamps, and you’re on the trail that leads to the top of the world.

The cold penetrates to the bones, but with each step your body warms up and your heart beats faster. You walk on a glacier that sparkles in the moonlight, like a crystal bridge leading to the sky.

And finally, the first rays of the sun touch the peaks of the Himalayas, painting them crimson. This spectacle is magic, which makes you forget about the cold and fatigue.

You continue to climb, over steep slopes and icy crevasses. The air becomes thinner, but you don’t give up, because the summit is near.

And finally, you are at the top of Mera Peak (6461 m). A panorama opens up before you: Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, Kanchenjunga – they all seem so close that you can reach out and touch them.
